Take a ride with me: Who's the Champ?
IT’s 1975 and we’re in the arena, about to watch the main event, a heavyweight fight between two contenders. The room goes dark and no one can see or hear anything. When all comes to, we’ve traveled through time.
We’re in the Arena still but, this time, ALL the heavyweight champions, From Sullivan to Klitschko are there too. Each is in his prime. We see Louis38, ALI66, Holmes80, Lewis01, Tyson89, Dempsey19. All the champions at their best, along with Both Vitali and Wladimir who are, ironically, at their best today.
There is no champion and you are given the task to stage an elimitation tournament. The tournament will result in two champions who will then face each other for the title of Heavyweight Champion of the World.
The Tournament begins Jan 1 1975. The year really doesn’t matter and has no baring on any particular champion. It doesn’t mean that the fighters who actually fought during that time have any advantage. Change the year if you like.
Your job is to end the tournment in three years and result with ONE champion.
Fast forward five years to 1980.
Here are the QUESTIONS
1. Who are the 8 finalists?
2. Who will be the champion? Who are the Top 10 Contenders?
3. How long does the champ keep the title and, if he loses it, who wins it? When?
4. What does the heavyweight division look like by 1980?
5. How about 1985? Does anything change?
I agree with the first answer, even though i consider guys like Ali,Tunney and Louis better boxers than Klitschkos, i just can’t see how any of them could overcome their jab and size.I am talking about Wladimir of 2007-10 who looks super human and Vitali who has always been very dominant,i think an all Klitschko final is very possible indeed.Wladimir should be thankful to Emanuel Steward for his career and dominant figure,Wladimir lost from inferior boxers only because he had not met Emanuel earlier in his career, basically Emanuel is responsible for the creation of one of the most dominant champions in the history of boxing.

The Klitschko brothers could not lay a glove on Ali.
Mike Tyson would knock them out quickly.
George Foreman would knock them out even faster.
Ali was the best, but every fighter has trouble with a certain style. Norton gave an older Ali a Challenge.
